Steam Deck
Installation Instructions from User on Reddit
Hopefully the below is helpful.. I'm having a hell of a time with Reddit's formatting, but I think its to a point where you can follow.
- Enter desktop mode
Press the Steam button
Go to Power > Switch to Desktop
- Start Discover
Recommended: install any updates you may have first
Search for Lutris
Click install
Start Lutris and install battle.net
Open the steam menu (start menu) and click on or search for Lutris
Click the + icon in the top left to add a game
Choose "Search the Lutris website for installers"
type "battle.net" in the search field
Select the Battle.net entry
Click install.
Choose the default paths and any icons you want
Let the activity complete
On the review screen, select Install
Let the install complete, you will see an Installation complete window.
Note the battle.net launcher will start and present the language selection or login screen, but you should not log in yet. simply close the battle.net client to let Lutris finish. This is displayed in the window's banner as well.
Alternatively, you can download and install battle.net from blizzard and choose "Install a Windows game from an executable" in step 2 above. This may be required if the Lutris supplied package does not work.
Game name: Battle.net
Installer preset: Windows 10 64-bit
Locale: System
Click Install
Click Install on the next screen too
Default path is fine
Select the installer you downloaded
Click Install
When battle.net pops up with language selection, choose your language.
Complete the battle.net installer like in Windows
Close battle.net when the login screen appears
Let Lutris finish
- Launch battlenet, log in, and download D2R
Launch battle.net either from the installation complete window, or back in the Lutris main window under Platforms > Windows.
Log in to battle.net
Select D2R and click Install
Default install options are fine
When the download/install are complete, launch d2r for a quick test.
When the game starts up and you get to the main menu after selecting visual settings, exit the game.
- Install D2R:R
Download D2R:Reimagined from nexusmods using the Manual Download option.
Open Dolphin file manager and navigate to Downloads (or wherever you saved the mod)
Right click the mod.7z file > extract > extract here - this will create a mods folder, right click on it and choose cut. If you're comfortable with the commandline, you can move the files from there too. mv mods /home/deck/Games/battlenet/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Diablo II Resurrected/
Navigate to the d2r installation folder. /home/deck/Games/battlenet/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Diablo II Resurrected
If you want to continue using the Lutris version of battle.net launcher, go into its options (gear icon next to Play). If you want to add battlenet to steam, you can skip this step for now.
Select Game Settings
Check the "Additional Command line arguments" checkbox
type in -mod Merged -txt
Select Done
You should be good to launch and play from here, enjoy!
- OPTIONAL: Add to steam (you can do the d2r exectuable itself but you'll have to login to battlenet through steam every 30 days, so i just use the battlenet launcher from Steam)
Open Dolphin file manager again
Navigate to the battlenet install directory /home/deck/Games/battlenet/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Battle.net
Right click on Battle.net Launcher.exe and choose 'Add to Steam'
Launch Steam desktop from the Desktop
You should see Battle.net Launcher.exe in your games list, right click on it and go to Properties.
Go to the compatibility tab and select 'Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool'
Choose which is best for you, I'm using experimental and its working fine
Launch battlenet and login
Go to the D2R tab and complete steps 6, 7, 8, and 9 from the previous section.
